Notice Regarding Addition of Community Rules

Writer

May 30, 2023 (UTC)

Greetings Adventurers,

We have added the Community Rules segment on our website alongside our current Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and EULA as of MAY 30.

The Community Rules have been added to our website to provide guidelines for our Adventurers to follow while playing DFO. We have better outlined behaviors and actions (some which may have been ambiguous or vague previously) that are not allowed within our game and community in the Community Rules. Please take your time going through our Community Rules and ensure that you are well-informed on such behavior so as to not engage unknowingly in any actions that may result in disadvantages against your account.

Along with the addition of our Community Rules, restrictions related to inappropriate, offensive, and harmful chat/names will be strengthened in order to combat a noted increase in such violations and to discourage additional violations in the future. An in-game report function that will provide Adventurers with a quicker, more efficient way to help enforce these regulations is planned to be implemented in the second half of this year as well. More details on this function will be available to our Adventurers soon.

The reform of restriction policies regarding security violations, which was mentioned in previous Developer’s Notes and Live Director ExStreams, has also been completed. This was carried out in a way to better ensure that Adventurers could continue playing our game without being restricted unfairly while not compromising the restriction of other problematic accounts. Additionally, we hope that details regarding what types of unauthorized programs may trigger security violations (now specified in our Community Rules) will allow Adventurers to avoid restrictions by personally making sure that they are not using such programs. We expect our policy reform and the specifications in our Community Rules to help lessen the number of Adventurers that feel they were restricted unfairly.

However, it must be noted that the monitoring and restrictions of simultaneous multiple-account controlling behavior will be strengthened as such actions highly undermine the balance of farming within our game and create an unfair gameplay environment for the vast majority of other users. Please take note of this change as actions taken for or against your account will differ for this offense henceforth.

On a lighter note, we would also like inform you that restrictions occurring from the use of VPNs and proxies (as mentioned in the Community Rules) will only be enacted if such programs are found to have been systematically used for bot accounts and abnormal farming accounts, such as the behavior mentioned previously.

Lastly, we’d like to mention that our Community Rules are not final and may change over time. Any changes and additions will be announced through other notices similar to this one, but we recommend checking in regularly of your own accord to stay up to date as well.

We hope the addition of our Community Rules will help create a more enjoyable environment for everyone thanks to our Adventurers both taking note of these rules and putting them to practice.

Thank you.
