Advancement: Impaler

Some Demonic Lancers bite off more than they can chew and end up causing their Demonic lance to rage out of control.

Once they go berserk, Demonic lances are impossible to control. In most cases, they devour their owners, ending their existence. And they don't just stop there. They continue to prey on every living thing near them, which has gained them notoriety among the people of the Empire.

Fortunately Demonic lances show signs before they go out of control. Their owners would start experiencing visual and auditory hallucinations and talking to themselves much more frequently. Strangely, though, the affected Demonic Lancers are not aware of these symptoms.

More and more Demonic lances raged out of control, and the Empire decided to single out those who showed the symptoms. And they were exiled from the country without exception. They were going to get killed by their own lances, anyway. And most of them did. They disappeared into history with no one to remember them. 
But those who didn't...

According to some eyewitnesses, these survivors wield mysterious black energy and have parts of their body blackened and horribly disfigured. They constantly roam, looking for something. It's not known what they're looking for, or if they're doing it of their own accord or for their Demonic lance.

One thing I'm sure about is that you must not display your power in front of the Impalers.
The moment their Demonic lance awakens, your power will become part of it.

 

 

Skills

Icon Skill Name Level Skill Description
Impaler Leather Armor Mastery 15 Leather Armor increases the Impaler's Intelligence, Vitality, Spirit, Magical Critical Chance, Attack Speed, Max HP/MP, and MP Recovery Speed.
Encroach 15 Enables the Impaler to use the power of the Demonic Lance that has encroached upon his body.
Increases Shadow Damage Boost.
The Encroachment skills Encroach upon their targets, decreasing their Attack/Movement Speeds and increasing your party's damage on them.
Hitting non-Encroached enemies with the Black Plasma skills accumulates a portion of the damage. Accumulated damage can be inflicted at once through Encroachment.
Hitting Encroached monsters with the Black Plasma skills causes a small explosion, which inflicts a certain percentage of the original skill damage.
Imperial Javelin Technique 15 Changes Basic/Dash/Jump attacks to the unique Impaler versions.
Hook and Throw grabs multiple enemies and can be canceled to give way to certain skills.
Double Throw 15 Quickly throws two Black Plasma spears in a row.
If these spears hit Encroached enemies, they cause an explosion; if they hit other targets, they cause additional Black Plasma damage.
During Backstep, your character retreats as it throws the spears, and then throws more spears after it lands on the ground.
Dark Ambition 15 Throws a lance of darkness at enemies, causing Encroachment.
During Backstep, your character retreats as it throws the lance.
Dark Spiral Lance 20 Throws a Demonic lance with Black Plasma spinning around it, inflicting multi-hit damage on enemies in its path.
During Backstep, your character retreats as it throws the lance.
Shadow Javelin Mastery 20 Javelins increase Magical Weapon Atk. and Hit Rate.
Darkness 25 Accepts his Demonic lance's energy and strengthens himself.
Increases Critical Atk./Magical Critical Chances.
Piercing Drive 25 Throws a Black Plasma lance with great might.
This lance drags every enemy in its path along with it, and then slams into the ground with damage.
Surrounding Encroached enemies are pulled with Black Plasma.
You can adjust the lance's traveling distance with the direction keys.
During Backstep, your character retreats as it throws the lance.
Despair 25 Throws a spinning spear of darkness that splits into multiple spears, inflicting damage and causing Encroachment.
Dark Barrier 30 Throws a spinning spear of darkness that explodes, and then throws a Black Plasma spear at the explosion spot for another explosion.
During Backstep, your character retreats as it throws the spears one after another.
Diffusion 35 Impales a target with a spear wrapped with Black Plasma, inflicting continuous damage.
If the target is Encroached, then it's also Held.
Surrounding Encroached targets are pulled with Black Plasma and receive continuous damage while Held.
Hitting Black Plasma-connected monsters accumulates damage on them, and this accumulated damage is transferred to all the connected monsters after a set amount of time.
During Backstep, your character retreats as it throws the spear.
Spiral Rush 35 Throws a spinning Black Plasma spear, inflicting multi-hit damage and causing an explosion.
Hitting Encroached monsters casts Black Plasma Intensification, further darkening the spear and increasing its explosion range.
Dark Star 40 Concentrates Black Plasma into his lance and throws it into the air. The lance splits into multiple spears, inflicting multi-hit damage as they hit the ground.
Dark Light Explosion 45 Concentrates Black Plasma into his lance, turning it into a big Black Plasma lance, and then throws it.
This lance drags all monsters in its path along with it, slams into the ground, vibrates for a while, and then explodes.
Hitting Encroached monsters casts Black Plasma Intensification, further darkening the lance and increasing its explosion range.
