Dwarven King Tanictar tricked Venus to curse the dark elves. 
In retaliation, the dark elves beheaded the king and conquered his city, Noire Ferra. 
To reach the origin of the Epidemic, the Adventurer must pass by the tyrant's altar, but the dwarves wouldn't let them. 
All the while, the Adventurer keeps feeling the hair stand up on the back of their neck, as if warning them of impending doom...

The dwarves, blinded by their greed for gold, continue mining inside the Gold Tunnel. 
Suddenly, an unidentified group of dark elves appears in the dark depths of the underground tunnel and starts attacking them. 
Their king, Widir, waylays the Adventurer and demands to know if they are related to these dark elves.

Word is that the covetous king Widir awakened the ancient Balrogs sleeping in their catacomb, and 
Balrog King Vartaruthis made some kind of proposition to Widir, who is willing to do anything to protect his gold.
